This is a pretty good value for the money. Some drawbacks, though. I have used a total of four different brands of car seats in the past, to include Chicco, Evenflo, and Britax (2 models). And now with this Graco seat I feel I have seen most of what typical car seats have to offer. I think that overall this is a very good model and one that provides reasonable protection for the money with only a couple of drawbacks, and at a great price that is only about 60% of the cost of the premium models. Long-lasting value! This seat is lightweight, installs fairly easily using either the seat belt or lower anchors. It has high height limits both rear and forward facing. The fairly narrow base means that the Contender can fit in some narrow seating positions or in situations that require seats be next to each other.
